Yet another attempt at being 'artistic'. I didn't realize the vertical lines were so far off until I looked at the shot on my computer. :-(

Well, on second thought - the weight of the meter on one side is balanced by the way the lines converge and draw our eye to the right. So this does have balance.

I like your eye in seeing this, Eldred. I see this more as an example of negative space than balance though.
