These birds are always surprisingly huge each time I see them.
And I do so enjoy watching them dipping down for fish, or soaring overhead.

Very nice flight image! I soooo envy your living just minutes away from a wildlife refuge. Once a year, we see huge flocks of White Pelicans during their brief migration through the Midwest. However, I have to drive over 200 miles (RT) to photograph them. And even then, I can never get this close. On top of everything else, their migration period (there)is also quite brief. Lovely wing position with a clear view of his face. Nice handling of the exposure, too.

Great catch Laura. These birds look the most like a dinosaur to me. They are very cool... and look great in your photo.
