The shiny areas are just the shine of the little yellow flower bowl. The olive was a bit wet, but there was no juice in the yellow bowl. And yes, it was all natural light coming from the window right behind the olive. To control that shine, would have involved the lightbox and diffused light, along with likely some added light from the front to make sure the olive showed up well. I chose not to go that route.

LOL, Laura. You're obviously a Black Olive Girl. Me? I prefer the green ones: either stuffed or in a Gin Martini. Nice set up for your photo. Great composition. Are the shiny areas liquid of some sort??? With the sharp contrasts, you were obviously working with difficult lighting. Did you use natural light?
