I'm not quite sure what this is supposed to be. An abstract figure stretching for the sun, maybe? It just looks ODD to me...

Fascinating photo subject. As I mentioned with your other photo, lowering your ISO in full sun and a stationery subject might have improved your exposure. This photo also might have been a good chance to play with exposure composition to give the image more depth. Since you don't do a lot of post processing, getting things right in the camera is doubly important. I see houses in the background. Was this statue in a residential area???

Very odd statue, but then I don't understand most modern "art". :) You did a good job capturing it!

Yes, it is unusual. Definitely a puzzler. ;) Almost looks like half a sunflower at the top left.
