B is for Bird...again

This bird(someone said it was a Killdeer) built a nest in the gravel parking lot at the airport where we held a rocket launch Saturday. And of course, every time someone walked too close, she started squawking. :-)
I really hope the nest survives - a parking lot is not a safe place to raise a family..

Very nice shot of the killdeer. She looks all ruffled up as if she is mad at you getting close. You almost can't tell taht there is a nest and eggs under her.

One of your best. A great find. Wish you'd noticed the eggs when shooting and framed a little lower to include them more.

Yes, a Killdeer. :) They do make their nests on the ground and not always in very good spots unfortunately. This is a super shot of her - including the eggs too! They blend right in with the gravel, don't they.
