Canyon Live Forever

Dudleya cymosa - native and endemic (limited) to California

These were growing out of the side of the rocky cliff along the trail.
The diffused light really softened the color of these, which can sometimes appear fairly vibrant.

I love a few things about this shot - the fact that the flowers aren't centered, but off to the side; the colors of the flowers against the rocky background; the lighting (no harsh shadows or bright spots) and just the overall feel of it. Nicely done!

The flowers really pop in the diffused lighting and against that stark background. Very well composed.

Reminds me of an aquarium plant at the bottom of the tank. Beautiful!
