Black Oak Leavess

I have a Black Oak in my backyard that is just coming to life again for the summer. It is an interesting tree having only a few branches although it is at least 20 years old (actually much older) and about 15 feet high. It only gets a few leaves.

The way you composed this really makes the "new life" stand out. The bokeh is nice, the leaves are sharp and the colors are beautiful. I actually like the fact that the center leaf is not in focus.

Despite my saying something on-list about less "color comments", the Spring green here is a highlight of this shot. That shade of green screams "new" and Springtime. Plus the tone on tone here is absolutely lovely. Lovely composition. And I agree with Laura about the appeal of the leaf shapes. Perfection, however, would be to have the center leaf in focus like the other two. Meanwhile, this is a nice photo that really fits the Challenge.

Very lovely shape on these leaves and that's quite a refreshing "new life" green as well. :)
