Week #1 - Cactus Blossom
by Dale R. Palmer

I reached down to remove some dead sticks that interfered with my shot... and got stuck by the cactus. Oh, the hazards of being an amateur photographer. LOL
There are close to 50 of these along my favorite dirt road. There is always something new there.

Canon EOS Rebel T5i ,Sigma 18-250 macro

Lovely flower. The yellow is very bright and contrasts nicely against the green and brown background. The image is sharp and clear and I like the fact that it almost fills the frame. Nicely done.

It's a beautiful bloom, Dale, and looks like you caught it at its peak. Really nice detail and color.

I think it is an Eastern Prickly Pear cactus.

What kind of Cactus is this? Very interesting and also an example of shooting in diffused lighting.
