Monster Bus
by Breezanemom

Clermont, FL

Matt and I decided we would do something different yesterday, so we went to the Showcase of Citrus http://www.showcaseofcitrus.com/).
Is it campy and kitschy? Yes. Real "old school" touristy. But it was fun.
For $25 (adults) you get an hour-long ride through citrus groves and swamps on this "monster bus".
The bus was made from an old school bus, cut up and repurposed.
The tires are about 6 feet tall (Matt is standing next to one and he is 6 feet 6 inches) and cost thousands of dollars each. The total bus is over 12 feet tall.
It was hot and muggy and there was a storm coming in, but it was fun. Was it up to Disney standards? No way, but I would go back and do it again in the fall / winter when you can see the oranges on trees. Right now they are pretty bare.
We did learn some trivia about orange groves and the local town, but nothing earth-shattering. However, the bus is back-shattering!

Wow! There is one of these in a nearby town but different colors. Great capture!

Oh, my goodness!! Wow is that huge, and I bet it was back-shattering. Love the pic, Lisa. Couldn't be better for the current challenge. :)
