The 8-12 inch Burrowing Owl likes to make his/her home in the plains of the southwest in prairie dog "towns." These little fellows excavates a larger hole from abandoned praire dog tunnels and moves in. Hunts both day and night. It's menu consists of lizards, snakes and frogs.
