This was taken about 10 years ago with an old P&S a friend loaned me when he found out I wanted to take up photography. It was a hot day on a dusty dirt road in the Santa Cruz Mountains in
California when I spotted the wonderful contrast of broad, bright, shiny green leaves over the wonderful texture of the madrone's orange curling bark.
