I wanted this to look somewhat like a painted black and white photo. My grandmother used to paint the photos my grandfather took of the family and I wanted to try to duplicate that. I started by cropping the original photo to the desired size. I over saturated it, messed with the hue, gave it a soft enhancement and softened the image somewhat, I ran Bill's Oil Painting action on it, painted her lips and applied sandstone texture.
