Like dragonflies, there are lots of turtles and I dont come close to knowing anything about them. I can differentiate a turtle from a tortoise but that's about it. I'll give it a shot. I think this is a Florida cooter. I took the picture in FL so at least that part is correct. Jim and I spent quite some time at the small pond near the entrance to Caribbean Gardens (a great place to walk through -- and a great gift shop).
