[rant] It really bothers me that the majority of the items in these shops
don't actually "say" Jekyll Island on them. Sure, shelves of cute ceramic
sea turtles are right at home here, but without any hint of Jekyll Island
printed on them what's the point in buying here? I could just as easily find
similar items on the Internet at much lower prices. As for the items made by
local artists, they'd do well to make a more obvious connection to the island itself.
The stores are full of cool items, but the selection is extremely limited if you want
to leave with something that requires no explanation of its origin. [/rant]
