The same broken stem and fragment of JK as a week ago(scroll back 3 images).
Fresh growth from the stem, along with attendant fresh growth from its underground rhizome network indicates that far from weakening JK, disturbance and breakage of this season's growth will actually strengthen the plant.
JK has learnt to use volcanic and earthquake-moved terrain as mere vectors for its reproduction...so disturbance where it has excellent soil, nutrients and light, all combine to ensure maximum vigour of JK at this site.
