Gloucester Cathedral Sculptures, winter 2010

For me, sculptures only become created art when flesh and blood beings are seen to interact with them.
There is then a moment of apparent transference, after which the statues appear imbued with a perfect life...and that which was flesh and blood is arrested, or even transmutated to stone...
