This is another first sighting for me. I've never actually seen them or photographed them up until now. We found this group just outside of Manawa congregated on the side of the road.

They breed up in the Arctic and migrate down here for the winter. While here they spend time along roadsides, open fields and prairies feeding on seeds, leaf buds and insects.

Right now they are in their winter or non breeding plumage.
