A reason to go to work

Its no secret that I don't really like my job. But yesterday the discovery of an eagles nest less than 10 minutes from where I work is giving me reasons not to mind going to work. I figure I could go there on my lunch break or check it out after work. Going early probably wouldn't be an option as I am usually not that early to punch in!

Its maybe a few hundred feet off of the road, in the middle of a field in an old dead pine tree and overlooking a small creek. We are concerned however how well a heavy nest like that will hold up in a dead tree such as that. In the morning there was an adult on the nest and an immature with it. A return trip a few hours later had both birds going to the south and never returned to the nest while we were there.

So going to work may not be that bad for awhile!

Wow we have Eagles in Cassville too. The wind took the big nest that was across the River on the Iowa side down last Fall. But they rebuild in a harder place to see. ALL YOUR BIRDS A LOVELY. I'm especially fond of the Cardinals. Great work!!

I agree Tammie, work gets in the way far too much.
You must be counting the days until you go full time pro photographer.
You have the skill and dedication for sure.
Like the pic.

The nest is fine, it's an old nest... but the visitors are new ! One thing I tried and it worked, was leaving dead fishes nearby, but the less they see you, the better. You could get yourself a hunter's cover tent, set it up, spread the fish heads or roadkills nearby, wait... and with patience, all good things happen. But eagles and humans don't match...
