Happy Mew Year!

Okay, thats corny but you knew it was coming right?!!?
When I first started this blog all I really wanted to do was keep friends & family updated on Zoeys progress. No one was more surprised than me when her story started attracting thousands of viewers and generating all the support and comments it has. As of tonight we are at 116,500 hits. I really hope that Zoey will continue to inspire others to consider helping/adopting special needs animals or the ones that may not get a second look. Perhaps even supporting local rescue and shelter groups. There are lots of ways to help even if you can't actually adopt a pet.

As with all good things they do need to come to an end, sort of. I mean really how many cat pictures can you stand to look at?!? We can still post every now and again, but not nearly as much as we were. Wildlife photography is my passion and winter eagle watching is starting. And I think Zoey is getting sick of me always pointing "that thing" at her. If it looks like I have a death grip on her in this shot, I do! Ask my friend Fisher who photographed us, Zoey wanted no part of it!

So to all of you who took the time to read our story, share it with others and share your thoughts, Thank you so very very much. We appreciate that more than you can know. All the very best to you in '08.

An amazing combination of fate, Zoey's courage, and your kindness and integrity have given Zoey a chance for the beautiful life she deserves. It is a wonderful story which will inspire many more people to help animals who would otherwise be left to suffer, starve and die. Congratulations to all who've played a part, especially Zoey, her human family and, of course, her feline buddies Lucy and Ozzie who help to make her life more interesting every day.

Thanks so much for the beautiful pictures and story, they made my day! I have been through countless, yes countless, such experiences with cats and kittens for all of my adult life, so I empathized with every wrinkle in the story from the first sighting of the barely-living skeleton in your driveway. That Zoey is just a gorgeous little critter, and God certainly has a special place in his heart for her, leading her to you as he did. The same can be said for the other two cats as well. And he gave you the kind of heart that could not turn away from what you were seeing. THAT is what differentiates a real human being from a non-real one. Most of what I have dealt with both on my own and in shelters I have volunteered at, has been the horrible result of human actions. You don't even want to hear about the cases, or know just the real magnitude of the problem. People are horrible to cats in particular, more so than to dogs, although dogs certainly get their share. That Ozzy guy seems like such a nice guy! to put up with all that gentle harrassment. And I must say, you did EVERYTHING PERFECT, from the first minute! Not that many people understand about how to introduce a new cat to a household, for example. Most don't even want to try, if there is already a cat there. Somehow, you picked up the love and the instincts for the job and the pictorial record is proof of your ongoing rewards! When you see that first picture, and then the current "fat and healthy" pictures, I mean how can you put a price on that? That is life as it was meant to be lived, and Zoey is one blessed little critter that, no doubt, someone dumped out as trash to die, but for the guardian angel who was sent to rescue her. God bless you, and please, keep up the good work.

Whew! I love Happy endings! I am a dog person, but I was touched with Zoey's story! You put a lot of love to this lucky kitty! She deserves you too! Thank you for sharing her story. Great pix too! God bless!

I am one of the late "hits" on the story of Zoey. I have enjoyed reading the blogs right up to Happy Mew Year and it sure should be with the help of Zoey. If I recall correctly Zoe is a Greek name and the mean is a "zest for life". From reading and seeing the photos, the name fits that little sweetie just fine. Hope to see a comment or two in 2008 on how these three are doing.

Happy New Mew Year to You All too!

Got a "new" cat today. A rescue as a kitten, from a place with WAY too many cats (30-40 ). He had fleas, ear-mites,scabies and worms when he came to his first proper home.
Now he mowed to me and my 3 cats and Bonnie, the poodle because of cat-allergies in the first family).
A very nice blue eyed cat, names Tippen. With burmese like coat in blue shades. Lars-Erik, my youngest cat, and the dog thinks it´s very exciting with a new friend. The elder cats can´t bother less. So, I guess he stays...

Good luck with the eagles. I´m waiting for my new camera, a Nikon D300. My christmas-present from myself I guess!

It says a lot for me to be constantly checking in on Zoey, as I'm far from a cat lover. But her/your story has been inspiring and fun to follow along. It's always fun to make new friends on pbase, and I'm glad that we met. =)

So Happy New Year to you, Zoey, and the rest of your kitty crew who I'm SURE are plotting to take over the world any day now. ;)

Thank you for sharing Zoey's story. It has showed my that there are many people in the world who care and take the time to practice what is in there hearts. I will miss regular updates, but I know from your other galleries that you have a very full and active life away from the computer and I wish you all the best in the coming year.
Give Zoey another ruffle behind the ears from Kate (and also Lucy and Ozzy.)
I enjoyed this picture gallery so much.
Happy New Year and best wishes,
Kate

So... the year 2007 ends on a happy note, although it,s sad we'll see less of you, we know that you're now very happy, well, cared for, have great friends, Ozzy, Lucy and the humans in your life... you're curious, full of vinagar... you have great cares, food, warmth, friends... you'll have a great life Zoey... your story has inspired many, moved many and help many (like this little kitty Sweet Bella in Australia)... Thanks for sharing it with us Tammie and now it's time for you... go and continue to take your wonderful images... go and fly with the eagles... But please, keep posting photos of Zoey now and then.

I just found your web page through "Stumble!" and what a great story. I am not much of a cat person, but any animal that needs our (human) help should get it. In that regard last year a stray wondered into my apartment and has since set up residence. Crazy cat. Can not think why anyone would give it up. I was just mean to it and kicked it out know it will stay by my sided worried about getting the permanent boot. Not going to happen.

Good luck with Zoey and your other cats and thank you for sharing your story.
