Service on the mountain is provided by a fleet of locomotives made for mountain climbing. They were designed to make very sharp turns and climb while pulling heavy log cars. Last of its kind to be made, Shay #6 spent much of its life as a museum exhibit but was returned to serve daily trips up this mountain.
