In an area notably devoid of dining choices, the minute snack bar at Green Bank is more welcome than any similar facility I've used. The food is exactly what you would expect from a modified closet but that fact makes it better than average for the places we tried while in this region. For entertainment, kids can roll coins into the hyperbolic no-armed-bandit or look out the windows of the beautiful visitors center. Note that a conveniently placed notch in the tree line allows a clear view of the telescope. Nothing is an accident here.
