The Pond at Elephant Head is a desert sanctuary that supports birds, bats, and numerous mammals. Owner Dano Grayson, is a wildlife biologist and world class wildlife photographer whose work can be seen in National Geographic, the BBC, and Disney productions on television. He has movable blinds that he can orient to the proper angles for different times of the year and day allowing photographers to be in the best positions to catch prime lighting. During the spring and fall migrations it is possible to see up to two dozen species of birds in a single day.

He has trained two roadrunners to fly from one point to another so that photographers can capture rare images of roadrunners flying as you see in my gallery below.
