This is one of the only buildings left from the Weedpatch Farm Labor Camp located between Lamont and Arvin, California. The building was a dance hall used by families during the dust bowl era and is part of the actual camp John Steinbeck based his "Grapes of Wrath" on. Now the property has modern migrant housing for workers and their families. Those units are occupied from April 20th through October 20th. Located just behind the migrant housing is, appropriately enough, grape vineyards.
