Yeah, "Fat". That's what the guys called him.
They thought they were being cruel but he didn't care. "Fat" worked just fine for him.
He went on, after high school, to become a rodeo champion (calf roping),
minor league baseball player and part-time inventor.
The aluminum saddle was his idea. It never caught on but he had a patent just the same.
After retiring from baseball and rodeo, he opened a chain of meatball sandwich stores.
"The Original 'Fat' Dunagan Meatball Sandwich". After that his pockets were always "Fat"....with cash.
