I have a collection of about 500 comic books mostly from the 80s and 90s.

A comic book or comicbook is a magazine or book containing sequential art in the form of a narrative. Comic books are often called comics for short. Although the term implies otherwise, the subject matter in comic books is not necessarily humorous, and in fact its dramatic seriousness varies widely. The term "comics" in this context does not refer to comic strips (such as Peanuts or Dilbert). In the last quarter of the 20th century, greater acceptance of the comics form among the general reading populace coincided with a greater usage of the term graphic novel, often meant to differentiate a book of comics with a spine from its stapled, pamphlet form, but the difference between the terms seems fuzzy at best as comics become more widespread in libraries, mainstream bookstores, and other places.

Wow . . . what a collection. I was always a HUGE fan of the Fantastic Four (both the comic and tv cartoon). Great shot. Did you know that one of the Batman (and Superman, etc.) comic artists is from Bakersfield? He is a good friend of mine . . . Lee Bermejo. He moved to Italy a few years ago to work on the Hellboy series while the film was being shot and decided to stay. Could be worse places, eh. :-)

No time for comics, but I think it's a whole world of artists and pieces of art. A modern art form. Roberto

Oh wow welcome to the comics world! No Jen, it's not a guy thing ;D I adore reading about these superheros and villains. And include chinese and japanese comics too. I don't collect them as it's a very expensive hobby in my country. What I usually do is to borrow from second-hand bookstores and also catch them in tv or movies. Errr... Doug, do you have a catalog so that I could buy or borrow online from you? LOL... I'm glad to find a common interest :-)))
