The Brown Shrike is found mainly in Asia, breeding in temperate Asia and migrating to their winter quarters in tropical Asia. They feed on mainly on insects, especially lepidoptera - moths, butterflies and similar insects. They typically look out for prey from a perch and fly down towards the ground to capture them.
