We have a Yellow Lab pup whom we love dearly, and I am so glad to hear that your Soama lived through the ordeal. I know this is long after the injury so I hope she is still with you and doing well.
Your story about Soama's injury reminded me of when we lived in Minnesota. Everyone there seems to have a black lab. A neighbor's dog had been hit by a car and instead of running to her owners she came to our back porch, as we had enjoyed her company many times. I remember the police just standing there as her blood spurted from two massive wounds to her torso. When I put my hand out to her she licked it. That night was the first time I ever remembered having a nightmare, and I always remembered how sweet that lab was.
