In the winter Juneau gets some impressive northerly winds. The winds are called "Taku Winds" locally. On this particular morning in late December, the winds were blowing up to hurricane force in downtown Juneau which is directly behind the tree creating the color you see in the background at sunrise. Temperature was about 9 F.
