I paid several visits to the north of the inner city, in particular the part where the souqs are situated. I came across some fine old buildings, and at some point (in 2009) ran into the festivities at the end of Ramadan, a small scale improvised fair. Lots of fun. I find it near impossible to sort consecutive series into one imaginary "walk" so I advise to look at the map view to see where a (group of) pictures was taken. Some pictures go without captions. Many I reconstructed later, sometimes gps drifts somewhat, but I think I have all the major spots right. Most of the pictures are from south of the Barada river, but some, like the ones of the fair, have been taken just across to the north.
