Since this gallery pretends to take you on a stroll, now imagine you go west again, in a street parallel to the covered parts of the straight street (for that, see my Damascus Khans gallery). There we'll see two fine minarets, this is the first.
This is the minaret of the Mosque of Hisham, 1426-7. Built by a chancellor of Damascus. It was very hard to take a decent picture because there are always awnings and such in sight.
