This is the Monastery of St. Elian. St. Elian was supposedly a Roman officer martyred in 284-285 for refusing to renounce Christianity. The church (كنيسة مار اليان‎, Kaneesat Mar Elian; which may or may not be on the Monastery's grounds) contains precious fresco's, but I found this complex closed and did not dare disturb the monks.
