In the northern area of the citadel there are the remains of a complex that is considered to be the Umayyad Palace. Though it is possible to see the structure it must have had, only a large hall that is see as its entrance is a visitable building.

From it one can walk a "colonnaded street" that leads through the centre of the complex.
