I have seen the name of this village spelled as one or two words. Yeşil means green, or unripe, üzümlü would be “with grapes”. There are many villages all over the country called Üzümlü, I found this one on a map only after adding the word Yeşil, so beware. There are recently regular mini-busses taking you there from Fethiye (leaving not from the Otogar, but from another station closer to the centre, though there is a stop near the Otogar. The village is popular with foreigners, in particular British, who live here, at the outskirts it has many modern villa’s but the centre has a definite old feel, I took some pictures of the houses there. I would have been disappointed though (comparing it to larger “old” villages, in particular some near Bursa), if it were not for the fact I went here mainly to visit the nearby ancient city of Cadianda. If you don’t have transport of your own you can get a taxi from the final stop of the minibus (if there is no taxi waiting ask for instance at the tea house or the market to its right).
