A note of caution: The first time I saw several of the exhibits they were in only one of two medreses. Some were even in the city museum. I named them according to where I found them then. But in arranging the settings I saw in 2024 some exhibits have been moved around. I leave the old names in place, but moved some of which I was certain around.


A museum in one of two medreses of the Selimiye Mosque, this being the southern one. A "Vakfı" was a foundation for the upkeep of what often was a complex, called külliye, of not only a mosque but also facilities like a Quraan school, a soup kitchen, a hospital, guest houses and so forth. Many mosques have lost all of many of those facilities. Shops somewhere in the complex contributed a lot to the upkeep.
