Mevlana Kapısı (Mevlana Gate, anciently known as the Gate of Rhegium) is a gate in the walls that had been strengthened by factions from the circus, collaborating because of imminent danger, in two months under a prefect of the East, Constantine, they did this at a time Attila the Hun was advancing on Constantinople with his Golden Horde. I did not take pictures of the inscriptions at the gate commemorating this achievement. But I took some pictures of the area, which now almost feels like a village, but there is every indication the small houses that remain will be destroyed and gentrification will take over. Some areas are now wide-open spaces, some in use by garbage collectors. The walls look crumbled, but will probably change once gentrification kicks in.
