The Church of the Forty Martyrs, formerly known as Mor Behnam, is a Syriac church built in Mardin in 569. When the original Church of the Forty Martyrs in Mardin was converted into a mosque in the 12th century, the name was changed to "Kırklar Kilisesi." A complicated story describes how 40 young people died for their faith, their bones are supposedly here. During my visit taking pictures in the church was forbidden, so just some of the garden, some buildings and some inscriptions.
