This is the Han of the Furriers, a benefaction of Mahmut Paşa, and the oldest surviving han in the city. Strolling through Istanbul mentions “unfortunately part ofr it is in ruins or has disappeared and the rest is dilapidated and rather spoiled”. When I took this pictures that had been remedied, but the effect was that I felt I wandered in a recent han.
