For some reason I tend to overlook Kayseri's nice bazar area, close to the city walls and extensive. In 2017 I took more pictures than even before. Some parts are covered, but modern, but a lot is "old style" and has a charm that I hope will remain. I add some pictures from earlier visits and some of the area outside.
A viewer provided me with more information:""Kayseri’s ‘Kapalı Çarşı’ (Covered Bazar) is claimed to be the second largest of Turkey (after the one in Istanbul, of course). Established during the Ottoman period, it was gradually enlarged, and (since these were predominantly wooden constructions) almost as systematically destroyed by fire. From 1987-1991 on, extensive restorations were carried out, partly in a Classic Ottoman style, in the area adjacent to the high vaulting section built in 1935.
