An article about the restoration of the mosque, from 2013 on the site https://www.iskenderungazetesi.com/tarihi-ulu-caminin-restore-calismalari-tamamlandi/ gave some information. I was nonplussed because the illustration was in the style of the Ulu Cami in Bursa that I know very well. When I looked closer I understood they had simply taken a picture of that one, to illustrate the article. Like taking the Eiffel Tower to illustrate the restoration of the local clock tower. Whatever, hoping the article contained sensible information I repeat: built in the 6th century during the Mamluk period, and known as the oldest mosque in town. However, it mush have been changed considerably, because when I visited I did not see anything Mamluk. It’s a curious mixture of a modern side and minaret, an ordinary entrance side, and a 20th (my estimate) interior.
