A short minaret, called ‘çardak minare’ (pergola minaret).
The pergola-style upper part of the minaret made it possible for the Muezzin to launch the call for prayer to all directions at the same moment. The electric wires feed the suspicion that loudspeakers were installed; so, at the best, he doesn’t have to climb any steps any more; if he is lucky, he can call for prayer through a micro. If he isn’t, his skill has been replaced by a recording on tape or CD.
