At the Belediye (municipality) building they had a display of "heads" of former kings and such. They often lived in times well before the art of portrait had developed, and I do not quite understand what story they try to tell. Probably that Erzincan was the centre of the world after all. Or to provide some company for Atatürk, who was there of course. As was Atilla the Hun. Also some were called "Imperator" which I think was a name not used in the 6th century in Turkish regions.
