I have been informed this represents king Trdadt who is bowing slightly to accept the blessing of Saint Gregory the Illuminator. This is a pivotal moment in Armenian history, Tradt has finally recognized Gregory's sanctity and Christianity is now legal in Armenia. This happened in the early 4th century.
