Istanbul Levent Walk 0787.jpg

I do not quite know what is the name of this neighbourhood, which one enters when heading for the Bosporus from Taksim, slightly towards the south. I liked its alleys.

I think you may be right, I found I was getting further to the North than I had expected, so I may well have been "äbove" Tophane.

as far as I remember, this is a part of Cihangir. It should be connected to Tophane (the place where people drink "nargile", i.e "Hookah") on the Bosporus coast. But I may be misleading you, not exactly sure. Was the way highly inclined?
