Eskişehir 1691

view map

This is in a - central - part of town where older and modern buildings meet. Or rather: all of a sudden a region with small and low shops stands between a number of higher buildings. I hope I have shown enough of modern Eskişehir to be forgiven showing some oldies?

Hi. I'm impressed with your pictures. That's so nice to see some people who is interested in culture and history. I lived in Eskisehir for 4 years during my university study. I also take pictures and love to be in old part of town wherever I go. Because it's the lively, true image of a city. I remember this particular building like yesterday. The sign is "7 dwarves clockmaker" and actually owner is a midget (and I guess his brothers-sisters are also). He was a cool guy, we used to buy white-gas for our stoves when going to climbing, camping because this was the only place that sells white-gas in Eskisehir. Then I learned that clock makers, watch repairing guys use white-gas to clean stuff. Funny yeah?
Thanks and regards.
