On the picture: The left half of the ‘son cemaat yeri’, under the porch, left of the main entrance to the prayer hall. The ‘son cemaat yeri is the ‘area for those who came late’, where worshippers who reached the mosque late or at the last moment, will gather and fulfil their prayer duty. Note the small ‘mihrab’ (prayer niche) between the two windows; during common prayers, such secondary mihrabs help the people here feel connected with the worshippers inside.
