This is the "village with a dog". The story is, that on my first trip I was stopped by a dog that did his utmost best to warn me off the grounds. Now, I am not afraid of barking dogs, and kind of like them, so I spoke some kind words and then shared some cakes that I had for a meal with him. I have had a friend here ever since. When I return he will start to bark, but the moment he realizes "the tourist has returned" he is just a kind dog. I didn't see him this time around, though.
Almost all houses (and many appliances) are completely made of wood, though most roofs are now covered with corrugated iron.
