It is surprisingly difficult to show how high the trees in a wood are: if they are all high, together they just look like any wood.
Is is also difficutl to show the atmosphere: all that green, and the superior quality of the grass. On a later day I found that the grass must be so nice because it was trimmed almost daily by herds of sheep and some cows. For when I stepped outside the fencing that kept them in, I came into real wilderness, with nothing but thorny bushes, where progress was almost impossible.
