Beginning from Murat I Ottoman Sultans killed their brothers since according to Turkish tradition every son (whether their mothers are different of not) have right to inherit his father. For this reason tens of Turkish state founded and ended. Murat I brought this system and killed all of his male relatives. After that Turkish nobles protested him. But he decided to form Janissaries (New Troops) with the converts and war captives and later with teenager that he collected from non-Muslim families. Ottoman time was a balance between commanders which are converts and noble Turkish families which has lands. After Suleiman the Magnificient this system changed and also Ahmed I did not killed his relatives. After that time some princes were killed but the law (accepted by Mehmet The Conqueror )which gives right to Sultan kill his relatives was changed: "the eldest Ottoman
becomes the sultan".
