On the picture: Amasya’s ‘Saat Kulesi’. It was rebuilt in 2002, identical to the original clock tower from 1865 (old photographs served as guideline). Its minaret-like substructure had survived the 1939 earthquake (unlike the other minarets in town, which all came down) but had to be dismantled in 1940, when the old bridge in front of it was replaced by the actual larger one.
