I found the museum unexpectedly rich, particularly so since some recentle excavated mosaics were on display. Greek mythology is too complicated for me to “read” the stories, so you will have to enjoy them – or not – without explanation. I love this fragment, it looks a bit like "Marianne" on French paintings (or was it money, before the Euro?).

The Zeugma site implies it was named the "Gypsy" mosaic, although some people claimed it would be Gaia, the Mother Goddess. No lack of interpretations (see also Mr. Van Basten below), take your pick.
